In its first year of opening The Lounge has been selected as one of six finalists in two separate categories of The British Hairdressing Business Awards 2008. The British Hairdressing Business Awards are widely regarded as the leading awards in the industry, with entries being received from thousands of salons. The two categories which The Lounge has been nominated for are Independent Salon - Business Newcomer and Salon Design Award. This is an incredible achievement for The Lounge in its first year and is a reflection of the hard work and dedication shown by all members of The Lounge team. The Lounge is selected to feature in the July edition of Hairdressers' Journal International, the leading industry magazine. The article details the salon's eye catching interior, with HJI commenting that the salon "...takes a modern twist on classic style with statement pieces, such as a pink candelabra and a chaise longue in the reception area..." with the overall design "creating a classic and relaxed ambience...with a trendy side with its patterned wallpaper and shabby chic look". The Lounge Hair Salon Brentwood celebrated its 1st birthday on 29 July. The ocassion was marked with a party at the salon attended by clients and suppliers. Click for a picture of salon owner Michelle celebrating.

Congratulations go to owner and director of The Lounge Hair Salon in Brentwood, Michelle, who has scooped the prestigious award of The 2008 Nation's Favourite Hairdresser after beating off competition from thousands of others. On Sunday 9th March The Lounge Hair Salon in Brentwood team took part in the Brentwood 2008 Fun Run in aid of The Claire Louise Ferris Memorial Trust Fund, raising £478 in the process.
